My go to pie pastry is butter crust, because I have found it is universal and reliable like no other.
We love stuffed pork loin at our house, but the dish had gotten a little stale. The mere mention of it set off lots of groaning and crying. “Not again!” The old family favorite need a little sprucing up, so we decided to try it with cornbread apple stuffing.
It’s cold and wintry, a teeth-chattering 37 degrees where I’m at. I actually had to wear a jacket and close-toed shoes! The deep South experienced it’s first snowfall in years as far as north Florida. We got a fine rainy drizzle where we are, and grey skies. I decided to make some cornbread apple stuffing to go in a pork loin for dinner.
I scored a couple of pints of strawberries fresh off the farm from a co-worker early in the season, and decided to make them into Strawberry Shortcake. It’s a bit early but who can say no when tempted with this simple yet decadent dessert.
