Instant Pot Frittata
An Instant Pot Frittata is a quick and easy breakfast that can also be a great dinner. When you are looking for a meal that doesn't require a lot of work this one fits the bill. Healthy and delicious this can also set you on the right track for meal prep success.
Why this works
- Quick and healthy - most of the cooking happens right in the pot so you're free to do other things while it cooks. Kind of like when you make French dip sandwiches.
- Use leftovers - this Instant Pot Frittata is a great way to use up leftover produce, deli meat, or ham. My Instant Pot Stir Fry is kind of the same. A budget-friendly dish that has you using what you have.
- Versatile - you can make this any way you want which is one of the great things about this recipe. Add your favorite combo of veggies, cheese, or meat just like egg bites!

Ingredient notes
- Milk - can be whole or 2%. You can also use heavy whipping cream.
- Cheese - I enjoy using cheddar or Colby Jack but you can use any shredded cheese you enjoy.
- Vegetables - again use any that you like or what you have in the fridge for a delicous breakfast.
- Meat - I like a veggie frittata but you can bacon, ham, sausage, or chorizo too!
How to make this
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk (water or nut milk can be substituted here), ground mustard, garlic powder, hot sauce, and pepper.
Whisk in the shredded cheese, and vegetables. You can use raw or cooked vegetables your choice.
Grease a 7-inch pan. If using cherry tomatoes it's best to lay those in the bottom of the pan first.
Pour the egg mixture into the pan with the vegetables. Cover the top of the pan with foil.
Add the minimum amount of water to the Instant Pot for your size model. Place the rack inside, and then place the pan on top.

- 6-Quart Instant Pot - 1 cup
- 8-Quart Instant Pot - 2 cups
Cook on high pressure for 25-minutes, and then do a 10-minutes natural pressure release. Cool for a few minutes then carefully place a plate on top of the pan and flip out.
Expert tips
The milk in this Instant Pot Frittata can be substituted with water or almond milk to make this keto-friendly.
Always make sure you have a pot to cook in that leaves space around the pan in the pressure cooker. You want the pressure to be able move freely around the pan while it cooks.
